Oh no, not the vet

We decided tonight that we need to go to the vet tomorrow.
The puppy was walking around on her leg ok, then, all of the sudden, she was crying and would not use the leg at all. So now, on the day my students come back to school, I have to take the dog to the vet.

She's walking on it now but has been very quiet in her crate since she had started crying. We aren't vets and really did not intend to have another creature at the house right now. We would love to not have to take her, but since she's having complications, we don't want to risk her permanent injury.

I have another video, but may have to work on it to upload.

New Year's Weekend

It's been a few days since I posted and a lot has happened at D²C Ranch. My husband's grandfather passed away on Tuesday so we rearranged our weekend plans with some friends from Houston. The original plan was for them to escape Houston on New Year's Day and stay with us till Saturday. The funeral was Saturday so we decided instead to stay with them Friday night. Husband had to work Friday so I worked on laundry Friday, packed clothes and cleaned up my kitchen.

I noticed the billy goat was out of the fence again, so I went out and moved the goats. I had to tie up Koda first, then bribe the goats with food to get them to the other pen. I went to untie Koda and decided to ride her instead. So I looped and tied the lead rope around to the other side of the halter, grabbed my helmet, and climbed up -- bareback! Notice, I had only a halter on her also. She did ok, but next time I will use a bridle and bit.

I then loaded the garbage to take it to the dump and off I went. While there, I found...
Two Black Mouth Curs. The two girls are probably not full-blooded, but they were sooooo cute, hungry, and very wormy. We think they are about 10 weeks old. I took them home with me, then to our friends' house. Things were going great. We left the friends' and went through downtown Houston to go to the funeral and the one my kid picked did a flying leap off the side of the truck. We were going about 65 mph in downtown. We shut down the highway, well part of it anyway, to get that puppy back. She's a little sore and now has a nickname of "Speedbump." The other one was promptly pawned off on one of my husband's cousins. We kept the one standing up on the top picture.

Here she is with our rottie. Tama doesn't like small dogs. She growls and snaps at them but hasn't hurt them yet. She only does that when they are in her personal space. She doesn't go after them. She's supposed to belong to my kid, the kid named her Emma and is responsible for EVERYTHING involved with the puppy. You know, the feeding, walking, cleaning up all the pee and poo messes. Hehehehe.
